To work in partnership with development agencies, civil society groups, government, and communities to improve and sustain the livelihoods of vulnerable people by increasing their capacities and skills to influence policies and practices that affect them.
Sung-Bawiara Foundation (SBF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working actively in the Upper West Region Ghana. The Foundation was founded in 1999 by Mrs. Christine Choka Seidu who envisioned the formation of an organization capable of advocating for the rights of the poor and marginalized people, especially orphans and needy children. Eventually the idea matured into a Foundation, devoted to developing poor and marginalized people in communities so that they can advocate for themselves.
Sung-Bawiara Foundation was registered in 2006, with the Register General Department (Reg. No. 18,128) and Department of Social Welfare (Reg. No. DSW/3059). As a Non-Profit making organization, the Foundation’s mandate is to combat poverty in low-income, food deficit communities through the initiation of sustainable community development projects aimed at assisting vulnerable people to increase their food and income security while improving their health and education status.
